Facilities Engineering Manager

A globally recognised manufacturing company in Essex are currently looking to recruit a Facilities Engineering Manager to manage their in-house facilities maintenance function.
This opportunity will involve managing all aspects of site facilities to ensure the operation can continue to run efficiently and compliantly.
This is a hands-on engineering role with management responsibility for a Facilities Technician and the in-house cleaning team.
Key tasks include:
- Taking a hand’s on approach to diagnosing and resolving equipment/process breakdowns and issues.
- Utilising the CMMS system to plan and delegate planned maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all engineering reports are completed in full.
- Manage Facilities and Cleaning team – including 121s, training and annual reviews.
- Oversee Asset Care strategies on compressed air equipment, boilers, fire alarm and suppression systems, general building fabric.
- Work with the Engineering Manager to drive a culture of continuous improvement in engineering.
- Manage external contractors including issuing permits and ensuring H&S and security requirements are met.
To be considered candidates will need to have previous facilities management experience ideally gained within a fast paced environment. A formal engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering is also required. It would be ideal to hold a H&S qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH) and have experience using a CMMS system.
The position is based Monday to Friday on site on a 37 hour week. As well as a competitive salary the position comes with 34 days holiday, defined x1.5 pension scheme, x4 salary life insurance, and private healthcare.
This opportunity may be suitable for a Facilities Manager, Senior Facilities Engineer, Maintenance Manager, or experienced Maintenance Team Leader.
