Our client is currently seeking an experienced Electrically biased Commissioning Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team. 

This role will require the successful candidate to travel across multiple Water frameworks across the UK to carry out commissioning duties on site and then follow up with subsequent commissioning documentation and O&M plans remotely. 

It's likely that the role will require travel and staying away for 2-3 weeks at a time before working remotely to complete the associated documentation.

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As part of our commissioning team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of our technology across various water frameworks. Your expertise will be essential in bringing these critical projects to fruition.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to plan and execute commissioning activities.
  • Conduct on-site commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues during the commissioning process.
  • Develop comprehensive commissioning plans, including testing procedures and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals 
  • Work closely with remote teams to finalise commissioning reports and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Travel to project sites as needed (up to 2-3 weeks at a time) to oversee commissioning activities and testing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in commissioning electrical systems within the water industry.
  • Familiarity with our technology and their components.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely when required.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

As this position will require shot term site visits across multiple sites, it is essential that the successful candidate is a great communicator and happy to be client facing. Relationships will need to be developed and built quickly and effectively with the end client and sub-contractors.

This is long term contract role, initially 6 months but highly likely to lead to 12months +

An independent assessment on the Contractor will be carried out but an IR35 assessment on the position has already been completed and confirmed this role is OUTSIDE ir35.
