Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am - 3:00pm

About Us: We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of production and efficiency in the retail engineering sector. We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Engineering Department as Engineering Technicians. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

Role Description: As a Engineering Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure continuous production and improve efficiencies through effective implementation of preventative maintenance schedules and timely response to breakdown repairs. You will work on a wide variety of equipment, carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance, ideally in a food/FMCG environment. You will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems in a logical and structured manner. Additionally, you will demonstrate a proactive approach to improvement initiatives and have a relentless drive for personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure safe operating procedures for visiting contractors.
  • Maintain Health & Safety rules and regulations, identifying potential hazards and risks.
  • Complete and develop PPM schedules using predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques.
  • Initiate improvement plans in a pragmatic and proactive manner.
  • Assist in achieving budget targets through efficient use of materials and replacement parts.
  • Maintain standards of hygiene and housekeeping in all areas of the factory.
  • Undertake Startup Maintenance activities and follow up on breakdown repairs on production equipment.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Skilled apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience in fault-finding diagnostics and resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with a positive attitude.
