Mechanical Design Engineer

We are on the hunt for a proactive Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team, a prominent manufacturer specializing in scientific instrumentation. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take charge of diverse projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality scientific instruments.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering requirements and functional specifications to create detailed designs.
• Validate designs through calculations and stress & safety analysis.
• Produce clear and comprehensive manufacturing information packs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cost-effective design solutions.
• Support procurement, suppliers, and manufacturing throughout all project phases.
• Manage sub-projects and workload to meet project milestones.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Experience using 3D CAD software
• Experience with design management systems (DDM/PDM).
• Strong understanding of limits and fits, stress calculations, and drawing standards.
• Structured and methodical approach to workload management.
• Familiarity with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems.
