Scantec Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a leading FMCG packaging / recycling manufacturing business near Gainsborough. Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Graduate Process Improvement Engineer to join their Technical team. 

We're seeking a candidate from a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering background who is aspiring to become a technical expert within Process Improvements. You'll work as part of a small expert team that will heavily invest in your knowledge and expertise combined with the scope of career progression all whilst having a great work life balance.

For this role we are seeking a candidate with a BSc or MSc in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, with at least one year experience post-study.  

Hours: 

Monday to Friday 
8.30am-5pm

About the role: 

Reporting to the Senior Process Improvement Engineer, your day to day will focus on driving efficient production against the specified KPI’s. This will involve a healthy balance between desk work (data analysis, root cause analysis, training, audits, writing report, SOP’s etc) and providing leadership / driving change to the operators on the line.

Graduate Process Improvement Engineer – Summary of daily duties: 

  • Daily monitoring of process and quality data 
  • Drive TPM and NPD meeting 
  • Conduct root cause analysis using lean six sigma principles 
  • Ability to gather, analyse and interpret data 
  • Conduct trials and provide direction with meaningful data 
  • Write technical trial reports 
  • Ability to learn and optimise equipment using data 
  • Conduct mass balances and yield analysis 
  • Seek out areas for process improvement/ cost reduction 
  • Establish and present the business case of proven performance losses 
  • Conduct cost benefit analysis 
  • Provide support/leadership on site projects 
  • Provide leadership and support to team members and production teams 
  • Review, update and write technical SOP’s 
  • Implement, embed and validate new practices and process changes. 
  • Conduct /support customer complaint investigations. 
  • Cooperate and promote culture change in H&S, environment and quality areas.

Required skills, knowledge & experience: 

We’re seeking a candidate with a BSc or MSc degree in Chemical Engineering with at least one year experience post-study, in a similar role within a production / manufacturing environment.
