What does the role look like?

Actuation Systems in Wolverhampton is seeking a Production Manager for the Gears production department. This division comprises a highly skilled legacy machining area alongside a state-of-the-art 'Best in Class' machining cell, featuring substantial investments in modern equipment and innovative methodologies.

The coordination of Gears production is a pivotal role within the Actuation Systems Wolverhampton business, carrying a substantial amount of responsibility.

Shift work (Double Days) and occasional overtime will be necessary.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Manages a team of skilled professionals.
  • Establishes priorities, communicates requirements, and allocates tasks effectively.
  • Ensures adherence to production schedules and strives to achieve timely completion.
  • Conducts process confirmations through pitch walks, monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and checks plan adherence.
  • Provides real-time problem resolution support to production teams to eliminate constraints.
  • Develops and oversees training and development programs for production staff.
  • Manages time and attendance, including overtime and holiday scheduling.
  • Leads tiered reviews for the area and manages escalations efficiently.
  • Participates in quality clinic reviews and supports closure of action items.
  • Prioritizes safety and environmental requirements to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Champions kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
