The purpose of the role is to support the Stores function within the business in ensuring Stock/Materials used for manufacture as well as sundry items are maintained in accordance with usage. This ensure that there are no stock shortages or supply issues which in turn could impact the business and required outputs.

The position will involve the machining and fabrication of sub-assembly components and the kitting and allocation of materials to the fabrication operatives to manufacture products.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Receiving / off-loading of goods.
2. Performing goods inwards inspection and liaising with the Stores Team Leader, Purchasing Manager for the quarantining, returning and replacement of non-conforming receipts to/with suppliers.
3. To support the Stores Team Leader in ensuring all goods are receipted onto the system the same day they arrive.
4. To support the Stores Team Leader in the control and maintenance of actual stock locations ensuring they are correctly labelled, marked and entered onto the system.
5. To ensure components are safely put away in the correct location on the shop floor.
6. To ensure the correct allocation of all stocks on the system and make sure all jobs are assigned the correct and accurate number of materials. Working with Workshop Operatives to make sure the correct materials, quantities are allocated.
7. To "kit" production jobs from stores as required.
8. To support the Stores Team Leader in performing Job Status Maintenance check as well as regular physical check to make sure all demands are recognised and dealt with and stock levels are maintained.
9. To support the Stores Team Leader in generating internal sub assembly jobs and make sure they are processed correctly and on time to ensure stocks levels are maintained.
10. To carry out the quarterly physical stocktake, liaise with the Stores Team Leader / Purchasing Manager to produce accurate stocktake reports and investigate any discrepancies raised during the stock take.
11. To ensure good housekeeping is maintained within all storage areas within the factory ensuring they are clean, tidy and safe areas of work.
12. To provide general cover for Stores Team Leader, Stores / General Labourer in their absence.
