Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a a Qualified Vehicle Modifier of Commercial Vehicles recruit a Production Engineer to be based at a major automotive OEM site in Dagenham, and the role comes with an excellent salary and benefits package.

As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of any improvements as well as control the product quality output as a result of that change. You will have excellent relationships with the Design and Engineering teams to support introducing new products from R&D into main line production.

In your first few weeks in this Production Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Encourage and foster an environment where improvements and customer quality are key
• Support the production line Technicians to implement and train any process improvement or process changes to the Operational teams
• Pareto quality issues to identify and implement continuous improvement activities to improve quality, throughput and process flow
• Maximise the use of data to drive improvements

To apply for this Production Engineer role, you will need an HNC/degree or time-served apprenticeship with an automotive manufacturing background and experience utilising SQCDP principles. You will also require the following:

• Mechanical engineering experience or Process Quality Improvement
• Experience of analysing customer and internal changes, including feasibility studies
• Experience with process cost-saving proposals
