The company specialises in the automated warehousing and conveyor systems industry, and is a global organisation. They have an exciting Senior Controls Engineer to join their team. This position is well-suited to a person who is looking to take the next step in their career.

We are looking to expand our team with the addition of an experienced Project Manager and we are looking for professionals with 3+ years' experience in control systems focussed Project Management roles coupled with a technical knowledge of Control Systems gained in a field based commissioning or technical engineering role.

Core skills / experience required includes:

• Effective management of the electrical and controls element of all projects, helping to ensure all contracts are completed on time, within budget and to agreed specifications so that we always meet our customers' expectations.
• Developing technical documents in line with client requirements and contract specification.
• Reviewing technical documents, drawings and overseeing software functional tests for systems in line with project requirements.
• Ensuring that all aspects of systems are tested (and quality checked) to the required standards
• Regularly visit supplier premises and construction sites to monitor progress, quality and planning for future work.
• Ensure that variations are identified and brought to the attention of the department manager as soon as they occur and that information and associated work are processed internally and externally. Includes preparation of cost estimates to recover any changes/variations.
• Actively manage all aspects of subcontracted packages from order to final acceptance.

Key Requirements:

Essential:

• Project Management experience gained within an Engineering environment
• Strong experience in the design and delivery of controls systems
• A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Previous experience of site installation and management
• Ability to lead and motivate teams of people, both internal teams and sub-contractors
• Highly customer focused with excellent communications skills

Desirable:

• Background in Material Handling/Automation Industry
• Able to understand PLC software
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical drawings
