Production Manager

A fantastic opportunity for a Production Manager has arisen to work for a well-established forward thinking nationally recognised manufacturing business based in the Kent area.

Salary – £45,000 - £50,000 basic + Great Package
Hours – Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm.

Location – Commutable from Sittingbourne, Kent

Skills required for the job – Production Manager    

• The Production Manager will organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods with ultimate responsibility to ensure the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output.
• Adherence to SHE management and improvement systems to promote a continually improving SHE culture with the aim of eliminating accidents and incidents.
• Achieve production output at levels required to maintain stock at agreed levels of availability and to agreed quality standards.
• Strong communication with the Planning team to agree an effective plan based on efficient use of resource.
•  Create an environment that drives high performance through effective performance management and development planning.
• To drive optimum manufacturing cost through product quality, high productivity, and efficiency.
• Drive performance to meet daily/weekly production targets/KPIs.
• Lead a team of maintenance engineers focussed on machine availability, PPM, and consistent output.
• Provide clear concise daily reports on output, scrap & efficiencies.
• Manage team holidays, absence, disciplinaries and appraisals.
• Build training and development plans for each member of the team.
• Manage disciplined cost control to maintain manufacturing costs based on agreed activity standards.
• Deliver year on year reductions in manufacturing costs.
• Strong leader and motivator of people, with ability to set high standards of performance and influence others to maintain high performance.
• Provide a strong consistence presence on the factory floor.
• Lead a large team in excess of 120 people.
