Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Job Summary: As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment. Your duties will involve interpreting blueprints, specifications, and drawings to determine the layout of sheet metal components. You will utilize various tools and equipment to cut, bend, shape, and form sheet metal into desired configurations. Attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety protocols are paramount in this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine sheet metal requirements.
  2. Measure, mark, and cut sheet metal using specialized tools such as shears, saws, and lasers.
  3. Shape and form sheet metal components using bending, rolling, and shaping equipment.
  4. Weld Mig and TIG, solder, or rivet sheet metal parts together to assemble products or construct structures.
  5. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  6. Install fabricated sheet metal products according to layout plans and installation instructions.
  7. Repair or modify existing sheet metal products as needed.
  8. Collaborate with engineers and other construction professionals to develop efficient and effective sheet metal solutions.
  9. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  10. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker or similar role.
  2. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  3. Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, shaping, and welding.
  4. Familiarity with various types of sheet metal materials and their properties.
  5. Ability to operate and maintain sheet metal fabrication equipment and tools.
  6. Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  7. Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle heavy materials and operate machinery.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
  9. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  10. Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
