Building Control Surveyor

A South East based Approved Inspector are currently seeking a Building Control Surveyor of domestic / minor commercial schemes in the vicinity of Brighton and Horsham. Preferably Class 2 'D' registered, or working towards. Managed, quality-focused workload within a small friendly team of surveyors. Starting salary in the region of £45,000 - £50,000, plus bonus, car allowance, 45p per mile, 38 days' annual leave.
Building Control Surveyor responsibilities:
- Check plans for compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates
- Undertake inspection of works and produce reports
- At completion of works ensure all relevant inspections have been performed with appropriate certification submitted, and defects/non-conformities addressed before final certification has been issued
- Support the training and development of trainee surveyors
- Contribute to client meetings
- Undertake peer reviews on an ad-hoc basis
Building Control Surveyor requirements:
- Registered Building Inspector status - Class 2 'D'
- Interpersonal skills
- Effective time management
- Maintenance of up-to-date Building Regulations knowledge
