Zapsa LTD is a specialist Talent Acquisition Consultancy working in the Renewable Energy, Environmental, IT, and Sustainability sectors. Our client provides Civil engineering solutions and traditional construction services across the UK. Due to continuous growth, they are seeking an experienced Planner / Programmer with a background in Civil and Construction.

About the Role

As a Civil and Construction Planner, you will play a critical role in coordinating and managing various construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of project requirements, constraints, and risks to develop realistic and achievable project schedules.
  • Utilise project management software and tools to create Gantt charts, critical path analyses, and other planning documents.
  • Monitor project progress regularly and identify potential delays or deviations from the schedule. Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for construction activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to optimize resource allocation and sequencing of work activities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare progress reports and updates for project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess construction progress, identify any issues or obstacles, and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budget forecasts, and financial reports for construction projects.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a planner or scheduler in the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, as well as relevant building codes and regulations.
