Job Summary

Responsible for the maintenance and legal compliance of a variety of plant and equipment on site. To contribute towards the running of a highly effective predictive and preventative maintenance system to prevent unscheduled outages. Directing and influencing others and driving can-do approach to a high quality of work and Plant standards.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitating day to day engineering/maintenance activities, moving from reactive to proactive maintenance methodology (Hands-on Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering problem solving)
  • To understand complex Electrical and/or Mechanical systems, with the ability to diagnose problems, perform safety & quality risk assessments and effect repairs quickly and safely.
  • Leading the development and implementation of PPM schedules to achieve maximum machine availability.
  • Utilising the site CMMS for generation and management of maintenance schedules.
  • Technical and hands-on support for breakdowns and the ability to collate breakdown data / information for further analysis and priority setting.
  • Accountability for driving housekeeping and 5S standards and other established working standards
  • Lead key continuous improvement activities; DMB, PSR's, RCA, and project work to facilitate lean ways of working to minimise waste and maximise plant efficiencies.
  • Ensuring departmental objectives are achieved, while maintaining legal compliance.
  • Facilitate training and upskilling activities to help maintain and improve site and technical knowledge within the team.
  • Creating, reviewing and up-rev of SWPs and other similar documents.
  • Coordination and site management of contractors.
  • Issuing Permit to Work to defined standards.
  • Critical Spares Analysis - Management of sundry items. Contribute towards the control and improvement of critical spares requirements.
  • Deployment and execution of Shutdown activities and major overhaul / CAPEX works.

Skills, Experience and Qualification

Desirable

  • A relevant vocational qualification e.g. C&G, BTEC, HNC, HND or Degree within an Engineering Discipline.
  • Experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Natural gas combustion systems experience
  • process control systems/PLC system experience
  • Ability to organise, plan and direct others without having direct management accountability
  • Experience of Maintenance Management systems - Pirana desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely

Demonstrable

  • Safety and Quality First approach.
  • Ability to read, understand and create engineering drawings.
  • Good standard of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
  • Data Driven approach towards decision making.

Please note this role includes a bonus of up to 10% OTE £49,500
