The Role

Based in the Midlands, the focus of the role is to be an expert in PLC systems assembly equipment. Ensuring all process aspects integrate seamlessly and that the data provided to the HMI shows running condition health. 

This will require interacting with clients and external suppliers. 

Summary

  • Expertise in PLC systems for assembly equipment. 
  • Collaborating with the Engineer team to define the specification of assembly equipment control systems.
  • Manage equipment onto site considering RAMS.
  • Manage the integration of all process-related systems including associated services.
  • Ensure integration of all process aspects and the data provided to the HMI shows running condition health and pinpoints errors when the process drifts or fails. 
  • Collaborate with the site engineering team.
  • Support with acceptance testing.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering throughout to ensure an effective handover and training of key staff
  • Act as the reference point for technical and system aspects.
  • Assist with fault findin.
  • Write reports and present progress on projects in both internal and external meetings.

Skills Required

  • A minimum of 5 Years commercial experience in a similar role.
  • In depth knowledge of PLC and controls systems including integrating various types of plant and equipment.
  • Able to present complex data effectively and use it to drive decisions and process control specifications.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving tools.
  • Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.
  • An understanding of cost and financial impacts.
  • Hold a valid full driving license.
