We are looking for a Project Engineer for a client of ours.

Main Purpose of Role:

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the completion of various tasks, ranging from repairing or replacing components to overseeing site upgrade projects on I&C IP and HP metering installations. This entails conducting site surveys to outline detailed scope of works, managing procurement processes, supervising on-site activities involving personnel and subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support related to high-pressure gas operations to the operations team as needed.

Key Experience Examples:

  • Governor knowledge from high down to low pressure is desirable.
  • Prior experience with pressure reduction sites.
  • Experience in commercial meter maintenance.
  • Familiarity with SCO 1, 2, and 4 is preferred.
  • Possession of SHEA Gas certification is advantageous.
  • Gas Safe certification is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and adherence to both company and client policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with accident reporting protocols, including near misses and safety observations, as per company and client regulations.
  • Complete all time management tasks within weekly deadlines.
  • Provide support and act as a deputy for the Key Contract Manager when required.
  • Conduct thorough site surveys and prepare detailed quotations within client Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Specify components and spares for procurement through our Procurement and Logistics Partner.
  • Conduct quality and compliance checks, ensuring correct documentation prior to component fitting, with particular attention to MP10/G17 design requirements.
  • Notify planning through work request forms of upcoming ad-hoc works and collaborate with the scheduling supervisor to resolve any related issues.
  • Participate in weekly scheduling meetings to review workload, resources, and equipment.
  • Prepare and/or assist in generating and updating various documentation, including Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), toolbox talks, work instructions, training material, and work packs.
  • Conduct site/team audits before, during, and after works in accordance with company and contract requirements.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Permit to Work (PTW) and Safe Control of Operations (SCO) procedures.
  • Manage costs and uphold quality standards for all ad-hoc works, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations during execution.
  • Maintain effective communication with client representatives to ensure satisfactory delivery of works.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the contract team to report progress and address any issues requiring collective resolution.
  • Pursue continuous productivity enhancements across all work aspects.
  • Actively participate in an emergency standby rota as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
  • Follow up on permanent rectification of faults identified during emergency call-outs.
