Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Job Type: Full-time, permanent (DESIRABLE SHIFT PATTERN, NO NIGHTS)

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients FMCG Engineering Team on a full-time permanent basis.

This role is crucial in supporting their Operations teams to achieve maximum productivity by minimising downtime through maintenance, repairs, and improvement of plant equipment. You will also contribute to ongoing building maintenance to ensure a safe operating environment.

Day to Day of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

• Conduct fault finding, planned, and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, enhancing reliability and performance.
• Install new equipment or relocate existing equipment as required, adhering to timelines and manufacturer standards.
• Respond to assistance requests, troubleshoot, and implement root cause fixes to address equipment and building issues.
• Communicate proactively with the Operations team to manage downtime effectively.
• Replace parts as necessary, reassemble machines within set timescales, and maintain manufacturer standards.
• Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation and system records.
• Recommend and implement improvements, including designing and fabricating equipment.
• Share knowledge with Engineering and Operations staff to ensure the safe and correct use of machinery.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

• HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a completed recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Current knowledge of electrical wiring standards, industrial machine control, and safety circuitry.
• Experience in a variety of industrial environments with diverse production machinery and electrical installations.
• Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
• Systematic problem-solving skills with a 'right first time' work ethic.
