Following the award of new business and company investment, a leading manufacturer has a new vacancy for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team. You will be responsible for maintaining a range of machinery and will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance. Candidates are sought with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Commutable from: Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Plymouth, Dawlish, Brixham.

Salary: £ 30,000 - £ 32,000 p.a. + pension + benefits

Suitable for: Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, Maintenance Technician, Apprentice Engineer.

The Role

Respond promptly to machine breakdowns

Investigate faults and action repair work, with the aid of maintenance computer data systems where appropriate

Record all breakdowns with faults, parts used, actions and times

Effective liaison with production and hand over of work

Install and commission machinery

Carry out various electrical fault finding, repair and installation tasks within personal capability:

Test and ensure all safety systems are working correctly

Comply with maintenance PM system and to advise on changes to programme, frequency, scope of work etc.

Overhaul equipment for spares

Assist with training of others assigned to the department

Carry out other duties compatible with this job and employees individual skill as required by management

The Person

Prioritising of workload to ensure minimum production ‘downtime’

Keeping up with changes in technology

BTEC National Certificate or City & Guilds – Mechanical or Electrical

Mechanical or Electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience

Up to date knowledge of electrical regulations

Ability to read drawings and manuals to aid repair and service
