Our client specialise in genuine and aftermarket engine parts for Perkins, Volvo Penta, and Yanmar diesel engines. Offering an unparalleled blend of comprehensive overhaul and gasket sets, supported by their in-depth knowledge of each engine type, our client offers reliable solutions from marine to tractors, excavators to forklifts, ensuring that every machine continues to operate at its peak, no matter where they are in the world.

What

This is a key role in an established SME with a global customer base and supply chain, gearing up for a new growth phase. Our client is looking for someone with the energy and ambition to help lead this journey, working closely alongside the recently recruited Head of Marketing and responsible for a small team of 10-11 people.

Our Head of Operations will take responsibility for the resourcing and development of the wider ops team. They will work closely with the Head of Marketing to drive sustainable, organic growth while maintaining a healthy gross profit margin.

We are looking for someone who can drive improvements across all areas of our client's company supply chain, improving accuracy and speed of delivery, while reducing wastage and costs, through better processes and automation.

The company is keen to expand its well-established global network of customers through improving its international supply chain. In particular dealing with the impact of Brexit for EU customers.

This is where you come in

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a management role (Project and/or Operations)
  • Interest in motor vehicle engines
  • Embraces values of trust care and selflessness
  • Proven experience in suggesting and implementing business improvements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Finance and accounting: working knowledge of budgeting cash forecasting and balance sheet
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Works well under pressure and embraces change
  • Organised and methodical with the ability to manage workload and priorities
  • Flexible to support the business during busy periods with extra hours and/or additional duties
  • Proactive with the ability and confidence to use initiative
  • A leader: someone who inspires others towards our shared vision

Schedule and Benefits

37.5 hours per week. Flexibility within core hours, e.g. 8am - 4pm /  9am - 5pm

  • 25 days plus Bank Holiday's
  • Bonus (Specific details are TBC, however it will be linked to achieving deliverable improvement in the supply chain)
