The team at NET Recruit are partnering with a highly successful manufacturing business to join them on their search for a Product Manager to join their team in the Portsmouth area. This business has been experiencing a stable period of expansion and success in recent years and have grown their customer reach to a global level, and cover various industries such as aerospace, automotive, telecommunications, medical and consumer electronics.

The position holder will have management for one of the key product areas of the business, overseeing the entire product lifecycle whilst playing a critical role in product strategy and market research and alignment.

Role and Responsibilities
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch
  • Collaborating with specialists on product strategy, providing marketing information and technical knowledge that can used to optimise the strategy
  • Supporting and working with the Project Management team to ensure projects within the function are completed on time and within budget
  • Working alongside various internal teams such as Sales, Marketing and Product to influence and consolidate product development in one clear direction
  • Providing assistance on quotations and other pricing activities
  • Overseeing testing programmes with the aim of identifying improvements on product specifications and accompanying documentation
  • Conducting extensive market research to find trends, assess the competitive market and identify customer needs and requirements
  • Visiting customers to seek ways to improve the product and support the customer understanding of the product
  • Conducting supplier visits to gain a greater understanding of capabilities and possibilities for future product development
  • Participating in events such as trade shows as well as conferences and other press related activities

What You Will Need To Apply:
To be considered for this role, you must have extensive experience in product management, specifically from within the electronics industry. Additionally, the company is keen to hear from applicants in possession of a degree or technical qualification within a technical related field (electronics, engineering or manufacturing etc). Applicants should be customer focussed with a good commercial acumen. Strong communication skills, alongside great presentation and stakeholder engagement skills are paramount to success in this position. Project Management skills are also desired for this role, alongside the ability to utilise and comprehend insightful data and convert these to reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also needed.
