Lifting Equipment Superintendent

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Lifting Equipment Superintendent to join one of the UK's largest port groups based in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation and use of lifting equipment across the site for all operations associated with receiving, redelivery, storage and ship loading/unloading of cargoes in line with company policies and safety regulations.
Responsibilities of the Lifting Equipment Superintendent include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all duties are completed in line with RAMS, H&S policies, lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations 1998, LEEA and engineering processes.
- Be active in lifting risk assessments and reviewing.
- Ensure the lifting team respond to vessel radio calls and report incidents promptly.
- Assist with management in the departments daily operation and ensure effective and safe use of asset management system.
- Coordinate all activities of the lifting team, providing clear concise direction
- Liaise with the Engineering manager as required and Operations management team to prioritise both reactive and planned maintenance to ensure service and repair levels are maintained.
Requirements of the Lifting Superintendent:
- Lifting experience with port assets is desirable
- LEEA Trained – Desirable
- Appointed person – Desirable
- IOSH – Mnagaing Safety
- Ability to manage tasks simultaneously
Other information:
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to commute to the site by car.
- Monday-Friday
- Role will demand: Climbing, lifting, bending
