Job Description: A prominent engineering firm, recognized for excellence, is seeking an experienced Production Engineer with expertise in batch and serial manufactured metal parts and components. The role involves working across diverse markets, producing technically challenging fabricated and machined parts to high standards, serving OEMs in sectors such as rail, defence, energy, automotive, power generation, and marine.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work from customer drawings and models to identify and plan efficient manufacturing methods for metal parts.
  2. Launch new products following a robust NPI process and identify potential areas of concern or risk.
  3. Create comprehensive engineering routings/instructions, manufacturing drawings, and piece part drawings.
  4. Develop SOPs, work instructions, setup sheets, and design jigs and fixturing for efficient and risk-free production.
  5. Actively identify continuous improvement opportunities and collaborate with production and quality teams for implementation.
  6. Provide proactive support to achieve production and quality targets and assist the commercial team with technical issues and product costing.
  7. Liaise with suppliers, customers, and research and development staff, and assist with new machine and technology investments.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a machining manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum HNC in Mechanical/Production Engineering
  • Proficient in engineering drawings and understanding GD&T.
  • 2D CAD capability, 3D preferred.
  • Experience with APQP preferred.
  • Experience using ERP software preferred.
  • Previous exposure to CNC machining processes.

Summary: This is an office-based engineering role within a modern manufacturing facility.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 7:30 am – 12:30 pm
