Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking to recruit a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to work closely with internal teams and clients.This is an office-based role but may require occasional travel to remote client or supply chain sites.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will eventually include but not be limited to:

• Generating electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel.
• Specification and sourcing of components, consumables and other hardware as well as working with internal departments to answer any technical queries 
• Ensuring Project budgets are adhered to 
• PLC/HMI selection in conjunction with the Software department
• Working to a customer provided specification (URS) when required.
• Working to the appropriate legislation/standards specific to the project. For example, BS7671, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA79, AS3000, etc.
• Ensure product safety and compliance to relevant codes and standards are implemented and maintained
• Ensure the integrity of the design through technical design calculations and provide reports when required.
• Research obsolete component replacement for existing machines in the field
• Specify correct parameters for components where required
• Work with  AC/ DC systems

Qualifications & Skills:

This role would suit a candidate whom:

• Has time proven practical electrical wiring experience
• mechanical experience(beneficial)
• Has previous electrical CAD experience specifically with Eplan Pro Panel (Eplan not essential).
• Is Qualified to HNC/HND standard or above preferably in an electrical engineering related subject.
• Is experienced in reading and interpreting technical drawings and interpret data in written/numerical form on electrical systems.
• Works well as an individual and effectively within a group.
• Seeks out opportunities for improvement whilst delivering solutions to diverse tasks/projects within demanding time, target cost and quality requirements.

Additional items that would be beneficial to the candidate:

• Knowledge of control panel design to international markets, such as US & Australia.
• Qualified to BS7671.
• Knowledge of PLC hardware and software such as, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley & Siemens.
• Knowledge of Industrial networking systems such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS282, RS485, etc.
