As an independent construction consultancy currently involved in several renewable energy projects, our client is committed to reducing carbon year-on-year.

Although press coverage hints that government policy may change from its support for onshore wind, if the UK target is to be achieved, onshore wind will be part of the mix.

We expect continuing requests for onshore wind projects. The planning process is a complex one, with site assessment, cabling routes and grid connections all playing a major part.

The larger numbers of turbines that can be placed offshore, compared to onshore sites, mean that in spite of the installation costs they remain economically viable for the developer. Most offshore projects achieve the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project tag and compulsory purchase rights are requested and granted as part of the consent to enable the onshore cable routes.

We are currently seeking driven Quantity Surveyors / Associates, from an oil refinery or windfarm background to be a part of these exciting projects.

The ideal candidate will be MRICS chartered, client focused and confident with experience working in a consultancy environment on similar projects. Qualifications / Skills:

· Degree qualified - within a related discipline.

· MRICS or equivalent, with up to 7 years post chartered experience.

· CostX experience preferred.

· Experience in the implementation and management of NEC3/4 suite, ICHEM contract suites and bespoke contract forms for complex infrastructure projects, pre and post Contract.

· Expertise in Commercial Management, Estimating and Assurance for complex onshore and offshore infrastructure projects in the oil and gas sectors.

· Previous experience within a consultancy, or knowledge of the consultancy model.

· Confident in taking ownership of projects and seeing them through from start to finish, from feasibility to final account.

· Confident in managing others and delegating tasks whilst meeting deadlines, ensuring work and projects are running on time and to budget.

· Client focused, dedicated to fostering close relationships with clients, resolving issues and exceeding client expectations in the pursuit of providing a world class service.

· Business development experience preferred.

· Specialist sector knowledge.

· Providing leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
