Principal Product Safety Engineer

Copello have partnered with a leading defence business in the recruitment of a Principal Product Safety Engineer to be based in either of the following locations: Hampshire, Dorset, Cumbria, Devon or Yorkshire.
As a Principal Product Safety Engineer your duties will include:

Providing advice on product safety matters to project and engineering managers delivering the programmes and ensuring the safety considerations are correctly considered and implemented

Engaging with third parties, to review and gather supporting safety case evidence

Developing safety arguments, both physical and functional, using appropriate safety analyses methods, producing and updating safety case and safety management documentation using appropriate regulations and standards

Line managing other safety practitioners
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Safety engineering processes, practices and tools
- Clear understanding of safety engineering & assurance principals
- Experience and qualified engineers from other disciplines who display the correct behaviours and have an understanding of safety engineering, will actively be considered for this role
