Job Description

The Sub-Project Manager will be working within the Fire Systems Category, within Categorised projects supports the delivery of solutions to Site Asset Management Database (SAMDb) to the following issues on the Site Management Project Office (SMPrO) work list, with the aim to deliver best value solutions, standardising the delivery model, standardising solutions and maximising Learning From Experience (LFE);

  • Fire systems
  • Building Evacuation Systems
  • Emergency Lighting Systems

Over 1100 buildings make up the Site, of which more than half have one or more of the afore mentioned systems.

The Project Manager sets the project execution strategies and uses a cross-functional project team to deliver the project safely in line with company policy achieving established goals and objectives within the agreed baseline.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering fit for purpose work in a safe manner to meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Oversight and co-ordination of all work scope delivery.
  • Controlling scope and cost to the agreed project baseline.
  • Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall project strategies and plans.
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting on project status, activities and performance.
  • Identifying risks and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective integrated project execution strategies and plans.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective communication to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining effective communications and executing the project execution strategies and plans within their project work scope.
  • Production of key project documentation e.g. Work Specification Forms

 

Qualifications

Experience required/desired:

  • Experience of working on projects in the nuclear industry;
  • Experience in project management, managing delivery to cost and schedule;
  • Ideally, experience in control system delivery but other engineering disciplines acceptable
  • Knowledge of the Sellafield project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of NEC3 contracts

Qualifications:

  • IPMA Level D (APM) professional qualification or equivalent
  • Graduate degree in relevant field

Security Clearance:

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
