E3 Recruitment's client is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a market leading engineering and manufacturing business in the Huddersfield area. The core of your responsibilities will centre on actively supporting the production CNC machining departments' operational activities in defining manufacturing process and process controls. Applicants are invited from a CNC Production Engineer or CNC Manufacturing Engineer background.

E3 Recruitment's client is in search of a Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer who brings the following qualifications and skills:

  • Apprentice trained or HNC or HND or degree qualified in mechanical engineering
  • Experience covering engineering, manufacturing techniques, and routings
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings
  • Ability to open and interrogate 3D models in using solid edge software (desirable)
  • CNC programming experience (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of CNC turning or CNC boring or CNC milling machining (desirable)



As a Manufacturing Engineer within E3 Recruitment's client's team, your key duties will encompass:

- To provide technical guidance and problem solving skills to the CNC Machine shop production team, ensuring safty and quality are at the forefront of all activities

- To ensure engineering released drawings are achievable with current processes (Design for manufacturing reviews)

- Create works orders and collate tech packs with accurate routings and operations

- Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required

- Drive continuous improvements activities in quality, cycle time and process improvements

- Create SOP's for key activities, reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions

- Optimisation of processes to meet objectives of lowering cost and / or improving productivity / lead time

- Hold regular reviews with technical teams on design & tooling changes to improve quality and / or productivity

- Identify and design bespoke methods and tooling

- Work closely with representatives from other functions, e.g. manufacturing, design engineering and quality.
