HVAC (Mechanical) Supervisor

- Responsible for carrying out or supervising maintenance, reactive repairs, remedial works, small projects and installations involving plumbing, heating and mechanical systems by in-house or subcontracted mechanical teams.
- Direct supervision of (currently) 4 Mechanical Engineers.
- Direct control of all Mechanical Discipline sub-contractors.
- Ensure all work carried out in-house or by sub-contractors is completed to a satisfactory standard
and within a timely manner. - Ensure all industry standard, department and company specific procedures and processes are
followed including access and permits. - Ensure compliance with all Risk assessments and Method statements.
- Check all certification is carried out & documented to current Gas Safe regulations.
- Manage and ensure all Statutory Maintenance tasks are carried out in a timely and professional
manner. - Manage and ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks are carried out in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all works are recorded and maintained via the CAFM system.
- Ensure All Required Documentation,job sheets and certificates are completed.
- Assist in the production of regular departmental reports.
- Carry Out Routine Risk Analysis To All Mechanical Systems(as defined above)and communicate
issues and concerns.
- Liaise regularly with the Building Services Manager and Head of Building Services ensuring that they are aware of all work being carried out.
- Working typically a Monday to Friday 40-hour week to provide the control and leadership required to maintain continuous operation of ‘ExCel London’.
- Provide first line management and leadership to mechanical team, setting team objectives and carrying out individual performance management reviews.
- Day to day supervision of the mechanical team, ensuring annual leave requests are managed so that the facility is adequately staffed.
- Ensure the team’s time management and productivity is closely monitored.
- Assist in developing and maintaining effective teamwork within the department through
continuous monitoring and via the performance review process. - Liaise with other Building Services Supervisors on all aspects relating to the Building Services
department. - Ensure that all records, including Sub Contractor reports, are suitably read, disseminated, and
required actions completed. Ensure any and all reports are filed appropriately and where reports
are not received or there is a delay, appropriate action taken to ensure receipt. - Ensure operational procedures are in place and regularly updated to facilitate safe and compliant
operation in accordance with Health & Safety statutory legislation. - Ensure all spares & materials are ordered to the best market value, of suitable quality /
relevance, and stock levels are maintained to sufficient levels. - Have direct responsibility for the implementation of the maintenance programme and statutory
compliance. - Assign PPM tasks to the mechanical team via the CAFM system. Provide support to the Help desk
including the assigning of engineers for reactive tasks. - Represent the Building Services department in relevant company meetings providing written
summary reports when appropriate / required. - Provide and promote the highest level of customer service. Continuously seek ways to improve
personal, team and business performance. - Ensure compliance with current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and
practices. - Ensure that all relevant information is communicated speedily and accurately in a way that ensures
that the information is received and easily understood. - Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as directed by the Facilities Director
and any member of the Senior Management Team
