Marine Resources have a unique and dynamic opportunity for a Composites/Production Team Leader to join my growing client in Oxford.

My client specialises in manufacturing high-performance, luxury jet-powered tenders designed for yachting enthusiasts seeking a seamless blend of speed, comfort, and style on the water.

The Team leader role requires you to have a “hands on” approach to lead the teams (10 direct reports) responsible for the finish of products.

Oversee all aspects of the finishing process, manage team performance and offline metrics, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimise workflow and efficiency.

Main Duties:
Manage and motivate a 10-person team of boat finishing specialists, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting open communication and problem-solving.
Oversee all stages of finishing process, from material procurement to final inspection, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines.
Participate in project planning meetings, providing insights and recommendations from the finishing team perspective.
Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards and identify potential issues proactively.
Proactively address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders, finding solutions that benefit all parties involved.
Generate and present reports to management highlighting areas for improvement and demonstrating team progress.
Track and analyse offline production data, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimisation.
Implement data-driven initiatives to enhance team efficiency and project profitability.
Reports to Composite Manager but will partner closely with Logistics and other stakeholder managers to ensure smooth material flow and project alignment.
Proactively address interdepartmental concerns and negotiate solutions collaboratively.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and cost.

Ancillary Duties:
To carry out such tasks and duties as may be required from time to time by Senior Management in accordance with the companies operating procedures and policies.
Strict adherence and implementation of the health and safety at works act is an essential part of the post. A close working relationship with other members of staff is essential to ensure customer satisfaction is met.

Qualifications and Experience
Gel Coat repair and finishing. Process control experience. Team management experience in similar working environment advantageous.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in boat finishing preferably with leadership responsibilities. proven experience leading and motivating production teams in a marine or similar environment.
Strong understanding of boat construction and finishing processes would be of advantage, however automotive background or similar roles would be considered.
Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with effective communication skills.
