Job Title: Sheet Metal Operative-Fabrication Facility
Location: S13, Sheffield
Pay rate: £13.30 - £16.63.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Employment Type: Temp to perm
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Sheet Metal Operative to join our team at our head office in Sheffield. The role involves completing sheet metal work in accordance with the company's fabrication processes and will help to strengthen our existing team in the fabrication shop. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business who invest in their people within and encourage progression internally.
A typical week as a Sheet Metal Operative will involve:
- Conducting manufacturing functions from start to finish.
- Develop and fabricate items including but not limited to lobster backed bends, elbows, tee pieces, reducers, square to rounds, vessel dome heads, valve, and flange boxes.
- Conducting quality assurance checks.
- Cleaning the work area to ensure a clean and tidy environment is maintained.
- As Sheet Metal Operative you should complete visual inspections of equipment and machinery.
- Working with the Fabrication Technical Team Leader to develop skills and knowledge.
- The Sheet Metal Operative should provide support to Fabrication Facility Supervisor when required.
- Working with Trainees.
As a Sheet Metal Operative, we require someone with:
- City & Guilds Sheet Metal Fabrication or equivalent.
- Good organisational skills.
- Engineering/production experience.
- Experience of quality control.
- Sheet Metal Operatives should have experience of technical drawings.
- Knowledge of health and safety controls.
