Production Engineer

£30,000 - £35,000/annum

Job role: Production Engineer

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8-4

  • Responsible for a defined number of New Products
  • Responsible for production implementation from PA release to J1 +90 days
  • Work to defined APQP process
  • Responsible for entire MFR process (supporting APQP document)
  • Responsible for all production engineering sections of PRN
  • Responsible for specification and design of prototype and production tooling
  • Responsible for building all prototype parts
  • Responsible for capacity analysis. Based on these studies, layout design, creation process flow and following through of process flow
  • Responsible for the design and successful implementation of all in-house and external tooling (in partnership with selected supplier)
  • Responsible for writing and signing off SOP's
  • Responsible for converting process flow to routes and ensuring all SC/CC, quality items (including the ones coming from DFMEA, PFMEA) and changes throughout process development are captured
  • Oversee all initial pre-production parts
  • Perform run at rate and associated analysis. Responsible for process improvements to meet the target cycle times.
  • Project Management
  • Responsible for all production engineering sections of ECR's
  • Perform project specific environmental assessment
  • Responsible for installation, operation and performance qualifications.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and problem solving
  • Structures/routings for new parts
  • Take a leading part establishing LEAN initiatives
  • It is essential that the successful candidate has an automotive background and proven history of delivering similar automotive products.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 preferable.
  • Good production process knowledge essential.
  • The successful candidate should be Degree (BEng Mechanical) qualified or have good relevant experience.
