Our client is a market leading innovator in electric technologies with a focus on providing sustainable products to a range of industries such as Automotive, Rail and Industrial. They are currently looking to strengthen their team with the recruitment of a Power Electronics Engineer based at their North East site in Gateshead.

About the Power Electronics Engineer

Reporting into the Lead Engineer, the Power Electronics Engineer will provide technical input to the engineering process by specifying analysis methods, development hardware and testing to ensure the product attributes are achieved.

Other requirements will include:

  • Provide detailed input to the design and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure the end product meets all requirements and make recommendations for product design changes.
  • Create and maintain Design Verification Plans for new products.
  • Create internal test procedures and external test requests at the system, sub-system and component levels.
  • Analyse test data and create test reports.
  • Support product compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Track and solve technical issues and work with the design team to implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure products work as a whole.

About You

As Power Electronics Engineer, you will be a degree educated Engineer with good theoretical knowledge of power electronics, electrical machines, and drives. You will be able to demonstrate industry experience and be comfortable in a flexible working environment where you can support all areas of the product.

Other requirements will include:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or similar disciplines
  • Good theoretical knowledge of power electronics, electrical machines, and drives
  • Have a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to think laterally & outside the box
