MSL Engineering Ltd is a mechanical engineering firm, who provide services to multinational clients in the pharmaceutical, oil and gas, food and beverage and medical devices industry.

The successful candidate will be involved in some or all of the following aspects of Mechanical Contracting – Planning, Safety, Construction, Quality and Commercial Issues. 

Responsibilities

  • Area Engineer is responsible for all engineering in a defined area of the project.
  • Understand the scope of works in your area, including the specifications for each system / service within the area.
  • Review and understand the contents of the Project ITP
  • Create Piping Construction Work Packs for the installation crews / supervisor to work to.
  • Contribute to preparation of RAMS prior to installation works
  • Resolving engineering queries in the field
  • Onsite co-ordination between Mechanical and other Disciplines .
  • Co-ordination of any other works required by MSL to support installation work, such as Scaffold, Opes. Cores etc.
  • Work with Clients piping supervisor to progress construction in their area.
  • Weekly Progress reporting of their specific area
  • Actively contribute to onsite Safety & Quality management systems.
  • Weekly Variation reporting (Gathering this info from the area supervisor to give it to the clients Cost engineer)
  • Familiarise with scope of the clients contract to monitor possible our potential variation work on site
  • Ensure equipment is installed correctly within their area
  • Onsite co-ordination between Consultant and Contractor.
  • Providing all necessary technical back up to their area piping supervisor.
  • Ensuring all material, fabricated pipe spools and supports is on site are required for their area to follow the project schedule.
  • Working with the clients QA lead to ensure piping systems within their area is handed over to client on schedule
  • Excellent knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs is essential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Relevant engineering degree
  • Hold excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems and pipework.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

Salary: A competitive remuneration package will be offered commensurate with the experience of the candidate.
