CAD Technician

Job Location:               Blandford, Dorset

Job Type:                     Contract, with potential permanent opportunities arising

Salary:                         Depending on experience  

Hours:                          40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm

We are currently working with a leading Manufacturing company who are seeking a talented CAD Technician to join their friendly and hardworking team at their site based in Blandford on a contract basis.

• Ensure issued designs are compliant with applicable codes, statutory regulations, prevailing standards, policies & procedures relevant to medical equipment (devices)
• Continual improvement of established ranges through engineering changes (ECN)
• Preparation of data for parts, fabrications & assemblies, e.g., 3D / 2D Modelling & drawings, BOM's, technical specifications, etc.
• Generation of part & product specifications, product manuals & assembly instructions
• Investigate design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost & operational efficiency
• Preparation of material, cost & timing estimates, reports & design specifications
• Ensure that all drawings are correctly maintained & appropriately stored

We would like our ideal candidate to possess:

• 2D / 3D modelling experience i.e., AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks
• Experience of 2D drafting & 3D modelling/ detailing
• Understanding of manufacturing processes within sheet metal / fabrication
• Experience / understanding of design change process
