Technical Assistant 

Location Melton Mowbray

Salary 26k to 30k 

Monday to Friday 

This is a Technical Assistant position with Quality Control experience and will report directly to the Technical Manager who is responsible for ensuring all developed product meets Customer and Company standards for food safety standards .

Duties will include but are not restricted to:

Working in a Manufacture Meat production plant Full time work
• Monitoring meat products from intake to finished product and reporting any food safety or quality issues e.g., temperature control, fat analysis, weight checks and label verification.
• Record and take corrective actions re: non-conformance reporting to suppliers.
• Complete sensory analysis of products in the test kitchen.
• Participate in NPD trials and new product launches.

You must be interested in the meat production industry.

Responsibilities will include monitoring standards for food quality, hygiene, housekeeping, food safety and traceability. 

Carry out internal audits which include GMP’s, housekeeping, hygiene and glass and plastics. 

You will raise standards inspect products to ensure compliance with both internal and external customer specifications, 

Preparing and presenting work for internal and external auditors like; BRC, USDA, Tesco, FSA and Hilton Food Group. 

Record keeping, communication with operatives and managers both verbal and written and corrective actions and investigations for non-conforming products and practices are some of my day-to-day tasks.

Essential Criteria:
• Working knowledge of what is involved in Quality Control Checks
• Strong command of the English Language both verbal and written
• IT Literate
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative with an eye for detail
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment, with a can-do attitude and commitment to safety
