Starting Point Recruitment have an Exciting Opportunity for Design Estimator to join our Fire & Security Specialist Client based in the London area.
Position: Permanent
Salary: £30-40k Annual Salary
Working Hours: Full time - The position will be Predominantly office-based role with the need to carry out site visits and surveys.

The successful candidate will assess and estimate project costs for various design initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, and the ability to analyse project requirements to provide accurate cost estimations.

Responsibilities for the post of Design Estimator will be varied and will include but not be limited to the following:
- Design of Fire Systems to BS5839-1 and other systems using AutoCAD and from printed plans (complete systems
- and fit outs / modification of existing systems)
- Reading and understanding client specification, drawings.
- Estimation and pricing of appropriate quotations.
- Producing professional, high-quality quotations and technical submittals with all technical and commercial content.
- to demonstrate the technical and commercial benefits our client provides.
- Evaluate and review incoming enquiries.
- Working closely with Sales and Projects Teams.
- Microsoft Office literate
- AutoCAD experienced.
- BS5839-1 Design Experience / training / qualifications.
- Technical knowledge of Fire Detection Systems from different manufacturers and associated systems
- Knowledge of other related systems is advantageous i.e. Gas Suppression, Water Mist, other extinguishing.
- suppression systems, Voice Alarm / communication, Security (CCTV, access control, intruder)
- Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to achieve client deadlines, Experience within the Fire Industry, Excellent negotiation skills, Previous experience within commercial environments.
- An in-depth knowledge of current and appropriate fire and life safety regulations is also highly desirable. These include but are not limited to; - BS5839:1- 2017
