Carbon60 are currently recruiting for a leading engineering and maintenance provider for Software Engineers to work on Control Systems based in their Chesterfield office. This company are involved in various industries such as Oil & Gas, Pharma, Defence, Food and Beverage and this particular industry, Nuclear.

This position is heavily involved in the frontend of control systems. From Design, Development, Documentation and Programming of the PLCs and SCADA Systems.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and committed as well as holding experience on various systems such as Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, Schneider and WinCC.

This role is a 6 Month Contract and can be outside of IR35.

This role is a standard 40 hour week with a competitive hourly rate and a hybrid split of 60-40.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver agreed modules within project (PLC, SCADA, Test, Networking, Documentation, Hardware Design etc)
  • Meet technical and quality requirements of the Project
  • Develop Project Modules (PLC code, SCADA, Scripts, Mimics, comms drivers etc)
  • Report progress made on assigned activities to Senior, Lead or Project Manager
  • Identify Project variations or Opportunities

Skills, Training and Qualifications:

  • Full life cycle experience from specification to commissioning
  • Hands on experience with PLC & SCADA Systems
  • A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Control Systems or any other relevant modules
  • Experience of some or all of the following is desirable:
  • DCS
  • Drives
  • MES
  • Industry 4.0
  • IOT and Edge Computing (NodeRed, MQTT etc)
  • Network design and configuration
  • Database implementation
  • Batch & Recipe Systems
  • Industrial Protocol Knowledge (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC etc)
  • Bespoke code development
  • TIA Portal PLC programming
  • WinCC Classic programming
