We are recruiting for a Production Manager from a manufacturing background to join a leading plastics manufacturer in this brand new role based in Hereford on a permanent, full time basis.
As Production Manager you will work Monday to Friday 8am-5pm with a salary of £45k per annum plus excellent benefits as below.

Reporting into Operations Manager, you will responsibility for managing the manufacturing facility including the direct management for 3 Production Shift Managers who work across 3 shifts. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the creation of the production plan and inform the Operations Manager of any implications.
- Responsible for the execution of the production plan.
- Ensure manufacturing processes deliver the planned output and Yield performance
- Ensure products are manufactured to meet the customer expectations and specification
- Responsible for resource planning and manage the workforce in line with the company policy
- Ensure production data accuracy is maintained and verified
- Provide the Operations Manager with performance reports on a regular basis
- Create and publish KPI’s relating to the production performance on a daily basis
- Provide the General Manager with regular asset condition reports
- Ensure all tools and machines are maintained to a high standard
- Support the Operations Manager to implement improvements and projects as required
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience working as a Production Manager within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in managing large workforce on multiple shifts
- Understanding of plastic manufacturing processes would be advantageous
- Formal Management qualification is desirable
- Plastic Extrusion or Moulding Industry Experience is desirable
- Continuous improvement techniques
- Good IT skills in particular Excel and MRP/ ERP systems
- Good attention to detail
- Dynamic and enthusiastic shop floor management style
- Excellent communication skills
