We are currently recruiting for a Electronics Engineer on behalf of one of our clients based in Cheshire. They are looking for a Electronics Engineer to focus on R&D product development for new and existing products, ranging from scanning devices to bespoke refrigerators and associated accessories.

Senior Electronics Engineer

£50,000 - £60,000 + 10% Bonus + Benefits

Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site days in Cheshire)

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

The Senior Electronics Engineer will support the project teams across the businesses R&D function and help in the following areas:

  • Developing design solutions to support R&D projects and helping with end to end delivery
  • Deriving Root Cause Analysis investigations
  • Perform comprehensive engineering calculations, circuit simulations and tolerance analysis
  • Lead and drive multiple projects and design reviews with peers, working closely with Project Management to drive project prioritisation.
  • Implementation of agreed designs for release into Production, including High-Level Assemblies and PCBA design.
  • Generate new concepts for products and circuits whilst designing for electrical safety
  • Use PADS or Altium to create, develop, store and control PCBA designs and cableforms
  • Generate Engineering & verification protocols for components and assemblies to test and validate alternative sources of manufacture or production
  • Lead the engineering verification and validation processes, including the use of DFMEA, DOE, protocols, and reports. Control and update the Device Master Records for electronic design changes.
  • Ensure changes follow regulations and standards including ISO13485, ISO14971, ISO61010
  • Implement and conduct testing protocols on components and assemblies.
  • Incorporate a broad understanding of manufacturing processes into the design work
  • Generate detailed documentation, specifications, and design packages
  • Support other areas of the business including production and servicing to resolve issues
  • Champion best practice, standardised use of PADS to create, develop, store and control designs.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working on low-volume manufacturing projects
  • Expert knowledge in one or more of EMC design and debug, FPGA development including toolchains, embedded development, PCB design and manufacture.
  • Best practice understanding and experience of motors, power supplies sensors and actuators.
  • Design for safety, quality, cost and reliability
  • Adherence to a stage gated quality system.
  • Experienced in Verification (including reliability) and Validation of product design for release.
  • End to end life cycle experience - design, develop, document, test, deploy
