Are you an experienced Project Planner or Project Coordinator with experience in an engineering environment? 

Are you interested in working in a fast paced challenging environment for an exciting new arm of a well established business?

The Project Planner/ Project Coordinator will be working on large scale high value projects and this is a great chance for the right individual to “get in early” with a part of the business with exciting plans for the future – naturally with this opportunities will present themselves in the future.

Ideally you will have experience project Planning large special purpose machinery designs and installations, project values in the £1 Mill to £15 Mill range.

Working closely with the project managers, engineers and other team members the Project Planner will be required to coordinate multiple large scale projects at one time and will develop, monitor and update project schedules and plans.

The successful candidate must have a strong background in project planning, managment or coordination and exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.

As the sole Planner this is the chance to have a real influence in project planning and managerment, with the opportunity to get involed in areas of Project Management and Coordination so would suit those in a junior role looking to step up as well as experienced planners.

About the Role

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop, monitor, and update project plans and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Identify and analyze project risks, proposing mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed.
  • Track project progress and performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Work with project managers to allocate resources effectively and ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of project plans, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of project planning and scheduling processes.

About the Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in the machinery manufacturing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential risks and issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies, such as PMI or PRINCE2, is a plus.

This is a great opportunity for existing project planners if they have experience in a manufacturing environment.

For those in more of a project coordinator level role, this could present the perfect opportunity to make a step up into a more independent project planner role.

Those experienced in a technical role such as a design engineer or process engineer would be well suited if you have Project Planning experience also, other experience is welcome including those who completed engineering degrees and have stayed a specialist Project Planner.

We are open minded as to what background your project planning experience is in, but candidates from a process engineering, bespoke machinery or fabrications would be well suited.
