As Sales Engineer for their European market, this exciting opportunity encompasses a combination of regular travel overseas.  Your time will be split approx. 40% overseas (Europe) and 60% office based. Although there is a degree of flexibility with hybrid options, we can only consider candidates who live within proximity to Winchester, Hampshire with access to airports.

This is a permanent role offering Monday -Friday 8.30 – 5pm, when office based. Flexibility is required for when you are overseas. Also included are: 25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holidays, a competitive salary to reflect your level of experience, annual bonus, company pension and private medical insurance.

The role of Sales Engineer involves key account management within mainland Europe for both distributors and clients. You will be supporting business growth through account development, identifying new business, assisting with product launches and handling technical and commercial enquiries.

We seek an experienced Sales Engineer with a pro-active, enthusiastic and technically astute mindset and outstanding communication skills.

Sales Engineer responsibilities

  • Key account management within mainland Europe – maintaining strong relationships with key distributors.
  • Regular joint visits to customers, providing training sessions, answering enquiries, providing quotations and samples.
  • Develop new business and maintain existing direct customer accounts.
  • Generating and following up business leads
  • Visiting customers, presenting, and assisting with customer applications and production processes
  • Supporting product trials, troubleshooting
  • Working with integrators such as dispensing equipment companies
  • Use CRM to record leads, visit reports, sample logging and follow ups.
  • Track sales targets, investigate negative variances.
  • Support new product launches and promotional sales activities.
  • Competitor and market analysis
  • Liaise with technical team for support, training and technical projects.
  • Assist with supporting complaint investigations.
  • Supporting customer services and accounts with account related queries
  • Exhibition stand manning or attendance at trade shows and conferences.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • B2B development experience (preferably within manufacturing/chemical/scientific industries)
  • Account Management
  • Distributor Management
  • Full driving license
  • Location within reasonable proximity to the office in Winchester and accessible to airports.

Preferred but not essential:

European languages desirable, particularly German would be advantageous. Related qualification within an engineering/technical subject.
