Our client is a well-established high growth FMCG manufacturer who are now looking to hire a new Engineering Manager leader as part of a capability drive across the business.

The Engineering Manager has overall responsibility for delivering the engineering strategy and daily management of the Engineering function at one of the businesses Manufacturing facilities. 

You will provide advice and support to the Management and the Senior management team, to ensure the right first time engineering decisions are made.

A snapshot of duties  

  • To ensure that the site complies with all the required engineering statutory and mandatory H&S requirements.
  • Ensure all engineering personnel are trained in H&S and refresher training is conducted at appropriate intervals.
  • Provide leadership to the Engineering team, establish, and maintain engineering standards.
  • Provide skills training and development to provide necessary competence to deliver site engineering standards.
  • Implement asset care strategies to uphold asset performance through the life of the assets.
  • Manage third party contractors, service providers to ensure safe and best service delivery.
  • Creation and implementation of best practice engineering, planning, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Develop a high performing team which can grow with the business, encouraging health & safety culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities and culture within the team.
  • Ensure downtime and asset issues are addressed and resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Responsibility for revenue and capex budgets for
  • Identifies root cause(s) of engineering downtime and introduces effective solutions to eradicate future events.
  • Develop and Maintain project plans to ensure milestones are being met in conjunction with Head of Engineering, develop and maintain project plans.
  • Identify capex expenditure and investment requirements for returning assets to standard.
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for department.
  • Motivate and support the team to operational success.
  • Support and provide leadership in conjunction with the Engineering Supervisors in the overall people management of the team.
  • Demonstrate and lead open and strong communications within all areas of responsibility.

Experience required.

  • Robust Engineering and management qualifications.              
  • A Minimum 3 years in senior management experience.
  • Intermediate/advanced PC literate.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Multi skilled engineering experience.
  • Experience within FMCG
  • Demonstrable experience in the development of engineering teams.
  • You will have experience in developing teams and strong leadership traits, capable of forging solid relationships at leadership level.
  • Always proactive in your approach, contributing to the wider business.
  • Project management skills.
