In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with the crucial tasks of planned preventative maintenance, commissioning small works, and attending to reactive call-outs across diverse BMS systems. While teamwork is valued, your ability to work autonomously is equally essential. You may also be tasked with supervising junior engineers to ensure safe and effective operations on-site. Collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the service and commissioning team are highly encouraged, fostering a supportive environment.

The detail:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Regularly check emails for instructions and updates.
  • Ensure backups of software and strategy files for all sites under service agreements.
  • Maintain server updates with backups as per schedule.
  • Capture electrical LAN maps of site architecture where applicable.
  • Design and implement PPM planners for serviced sites.
  • Carefully maintain controls equipment as per company policy.
  • Promptly respond to callouts and breakdowns according to company SLAs.
  • Provide daily progress updates to line managers.
  • Prepare comprehensive site reports detailing work done and recommendations.
  • Foster and nurture strong client relationships.
  • Conduct site surveys as needed, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Commission various DDC control systems, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to schedules.
  • Manage subcontractors effectively and enforce H&S standards.
  • Develop and maintain project folders for small works projects, ensuring compliance with ISO procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to design specifications and contractual requirements for BMS installations.
  • Procure appropriate controls equipment for each project.
  • Generate software, wiring, commissioning schedules, and O&M documentation.
  • Ensure all works comply with project method statements, risk assessments, and H&S policies.
  • Conduct thorough demonstrations and handovers to clients for smaller projects.
  • Complete weekly timesheets and adhere to all ISO procedures.
  • Fulfill any additional duties assigned by directors/managers.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently.
  • Strong commercial awareness and technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional time management.
  • Technical proficiency with various BMS systems, including Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, and ALC.
  • Knowledge of Niagara-based systems and HVAC systems.
  • Electrical competence is essential.
