Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service, maintenance and signalling.

Role description:

Industrial Engineer to provide manufacturing engineering support for Tanker Telemetry and Digital Products for the Rail sector The role is required to ensure the industrialisation (production engineering) of new Tanker Telemetry systems from understanding Customer requirements through to the provision of design and manufacturing documentation to enable the procurement of materials and the manufacture and testing of the system. This will include:-

  1. Provide proactive and reactive support to Tanker Telemetry products in order to maintain On Time Delivery of products through delivery of manufacturing and engineering documentation for all new systems / upgrades.
  2. Support development of TEML20-3 and Next Generation concept.
  3. Where required provide support to other Series and NPI Products.

The internal job title for this role is Industrialisation Engineer with Job Code IN-IA-03 as follows:-

Purpose of the job:

From prototype phase to serial phase apply industrial standards on products and perform continuous improvement on production lines in order to increase QCD manufacturing productivity.

In this respect the person in charge complies with Ethics and Compliance policies.

Activities by step of the industrial process

Tender:

Participate if needed to technical clause to clause analysis during the tender phase, for the industrial area.

Concurrent Engineering:

Contributes during specification and design phases to technical solution decisions.

Anticipate the launch of industrial facilities and long lead time supplies for the prototypes manufacturing.

Manage / follow the achievement of the prototypes in the respect of the industrial rules, and the QCD requirements. Adapt the prototypes delivery process to the development requirements (quick prototyping…)

Guarantee the application of the Manufacturing (DFM) and test Rules (DFT) and repairs requirement during the product development in order to optimize the productivity and the test coverage. Participate to Technical Design Review (DR)

Ensure the consideration as soon as possible the Component management rules to reduce the industrial impacts: obsolescence, sustainability, mono source, manufacturing or assembly process.

Complies with EHS and external standards.

Industrialisation:

Defi ne and commit on the schedule and the industrialization cost target.

Manage industrial risk through Process FMEA and associated improvement action plan.

Define requirements and rules for associated tooling necessary to start production.

Qualify the product/process pair as well as industrial means to be put in place in line with the design.

Support sourcing and SQD teams in the suppliers’ qualification and quality follow up.

Issue relevant documents in the Quality System.

Manage industrial fi les issued to subcontractor.

Deploy industrial tools to subcontractor as per defi ned by Transfer Plan.

Manage business assets lent to subcontractor.

Transmission:

Train the workers and EPU managers during design and industrialization phases Ensure continuous training and permanent qualification of the workers.

Execution / Serial manufacturing:

Guarantees internal control and good application of process rules in line with customers’ requirements.

In case of non-conformity or incident, investigate root causes, finds and implement corrective solutions.

Support Sourcing and Supplier Quality teams during quality crisis

Transverse:

Propose improvement ideas and evolution of the business rules of their domain.

Key Job Authorities and Dimensions (Expenditure/Hiring authorities, total budget resp., team size; etc.):

Industrialisation Engineer manages technicians that are eventually under his responsibility.

He has the duty to control his external communication (written and oral) as it engages the responsibility of AT towards third parties.

Performance measurements: (OTD, QCD, Sales, PMC, Orders, Gross margin, etc.)

Industrial means and documents issued in due time with the proper quality level

Qualifications:-

Ideally Engineering degree in process engineering, electronics, electrical or mechanical or significant relevant work experiences considered

Experiences:-

Mandatory:

2 to 5 years’ experience in industrial methods

Preferred:

Practice the concerned special process from 2 to 5 years (execution, definition, qualification)

Competencies and Skills:

Autonomous, rigorous, good communication

Good teaching skills (able to provide training to a group of trainees)

Innovative, participative in business workgroups

Shifts: Monday – Friday Days

Hours: 37 hours per week

Duration: Long term ongoing

18 month long term contract.
