CNC Turner Setter Operator 

Bedford - Permanent

Salary: £29,000

We have an excellent opportunity for a CNC Turner / Setter Operator to join a growing business in Bedford.

This company has a long history in developing and manufacturing their own products and is looking to expand due to growth and recent investment. Their products are being sold across various markets with in an international client base that is growing.

As a CNC Turner you will set and operate a cell of CNC and manual lathes, to manufacture components in compliance with specifications.

The role will involve:

• Set and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls 
• Work in an environment of continuous improvement
• Working with small batch sizes to tight tolerances
• Read engineering drawings, tool list and set-up sheet to obtain appropriate tooling and measuring equipment
• Set the CNC machine tools to program setting sheet, using multiple tooling stations
• Carry out dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment
• Ensure required standards of safety are adhered to, machine cleanliness and routine machine lubrication is carried out
• Report to supervision any machine tool or measuring instrument defect to minimise scrap and downtime
• Participate in Kaizen activities to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Liaise with Production Engineering, Quality and Supervision in problem solving

Key Skills & Experience

• Working to engineering drawings

• Experience with CNC lathes

• Ability to work efficiently to deadlines

• Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent

• Previous experience with CNC Machines

Hours & Benefits

• 37hrs

• 08.00 - 16.30, Monday to Friday

• Excellent package
