Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Walsall

Pay Rates: £40,000 - £50,000

Shift Patterns: Days with the option of overtime - you choose your hours!

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play an integral part in our client's engineering business. They have a strong reputation for manufacturing high-quality precision castings. An exciting opportunity to join their business has become available and they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer. Their machines are all Modern CNC Machines therefore you must have experience working on Modern Machinery. If you are experienced in fault diagnosis both mechanically and electrically on modern CNC machines then this role may be perfect for you!

CNC's currently in place include Chiron & Scherer vertical lathes & machine centers with Siemens Controls.

Responsibilities:

· Identify & rectify machine tool faults in a timely manner.

· Be responsible for servicing, maintaining & providing technical support to our tooling provider.

· Have an excellent understanding & working knowledge of machine tool control systems especially (SIEMENS)

· Ability to read & follow "Ladder & Wiring Diagrams", edit and interrogate where needed.

· Good understanding of tool PPM / TPM procedures.

· Ability to work under own initiative with limited guidance.

· Build a rapport with colleagues & peers to improve results.

· Add value to the service and provide first time fixes, leading to reduced breakdowns & down time.

· Document & record actions taken for historic reference.

· Good understanding of Root Cause analysis Tools / fault Finding.

· Have a good understanding of Health & safety procedures / requirements.

· Single site based.

· Day to day maintenance of machine shop

· Reduce requirement on external contractors.

· Good understanding of CNC machines.

· Liaise with external suppliers on spares and quotations.

· Create a library of faults for future reference.

· Create / maintain a periodic service plan for all associated equipment.

I.E. compressors, wash-machines, leak testers.

Qualification/experience:

• TPM / TPM experience.
• 18th Edition Electrics.

· Strong, demonstrable technical understanding of modern CNC equipment.

· HNC level or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.

· Ideally served an Engineering apprenticeship.

· 18th Edition Electrical qualification.

· Ability to multitask, time manage, and work independently.

· PC Literacy essential.
