This is an opportunity for you to fast track into a Project Manager role within 12 months.


We’re recruiting a Site Agent to a Tier 2 Principal Contractor. With a pipeline of secure projects across the West and East Midlands, this is a great opportunity for you to quickly develop into a Project Manager. Being a platinum investor in people means you’ll be fully supported by the company along with lots of one-on-one coaching from the senior leadership.


Initially working on a project in Shropshire, you’ll help to deliver around £50M of scope under the NEC form of contract.  The bulk of this will be self-delivered meaning you’ll have full control of all aspects of the project, programme, and budget. This will be particularly good for your development, particularly when it comes to understanding the true cost and value.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure company procedures and systems on quality and HSE are implemented and followed
• Prepare quality, environmental and H&S construction plans
• Plan, measure, monitor, and review the progress of contracts throughout the project’s lifespan and ensure compliance with budgets and programme
• Manage the project delivery team to ensure adequate plant, labour and material resources are available
• Ensure timely submission of the necessary documentation for inclusion within the project health and safety file.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications and ensure accurate construction
• When required, ensure timely procurement and payment of suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare and submit weekly reports on progress for review and inclusion in the project’s financial CVRs and forecasts
• Identify potential problem areas, and financial impact, in sufficient time to ensure adequate provisions have been made within forecast accounts
• Provide sufficient and accurate information to construction teams to ensure timely construction of the works
• Actively resolve contractual issues while also maintaining good relationships
• Mentor and guide junior members of the team

To be successful in this position, it is thought that you will:

• Be educated to HND or Degree level in Civil Engineering
• Have demonstrable experience of working as a Sub Agent or Site Agent within the civil engineering construction industry
• Be experienced in Design & Build Contracts and have an understanding of the NEC contract
• Have a full UK Driving Licence
• Be committed to UK travel and potentially international travel

On offer is an above market salary of 65,000 - 75,000 per annum with a very strong benefits package providing private medical cover, bonus, generous car allowance, tax free subsistence etc.
