We are currently recruiting for a Utilities Estimator, to join the team at our Engineering client, based in Sutton In Ashfield.
They are a well-established and market leading supplier of engineering solutions, specialising in the design and construction of metal fabrications, primarily to the water and energy sectors.
This is a permanent vacancy.

The Role – Utilities Estimator
You will report directly to the Pre Contract Director.
As a Utilities Estimator, you will be responsible for:

To operate directly with customers, suppliers, internal Engineering, Fabrication production and sales teams to cost projects which meet customers' technical and commercial requirements

You will produce accurate quotations that include margins, materials, labour and other associated costs including subcontracted elements

Your proposals will include well written narrative on the technical aspects of the proposal, the key benefits of ECS and the technical aspects of the equipment selected

Follow submission of proposals, and expect to proactively follow up client queries and make follow up enquiries to increase levels of customer interaction to secure orders

Upon contract win, you will participate in a launch meeting with the project delivery staff to hand over the project, including a detailed breakdown of the successful bid, technical risks and opportunities and support the PM with follow up queries through the early stages of the project lifecycle
The Candidate
Essential:
-
Able to write accurate and concise reports, proposals
-
IT skills — excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Microsoft Projects

Presentation skills — Your presentation skills will be assessed during selection

Utilities Sector experience – previous experience of working in the Water Treatment industry is essential. Demonstrable experience in products such as pumps, screening, sewage treatment equipment and or aeration products.
Desirable:
-
Level 5 Mechanical /Electrical or Civil Engineering qualification is desirable but can be overlooked with relevant site experience and a demonstrable knowledge of the products and processes
