Are you ready to take on a pivotal role within a specialist production engineering team? We are seeking a Production Engineer to ensure components are meticulously reviewed and prepared for production using state-of-the-art CNC machine tools.
 
This role demands a blend of technical expertise and strong collaborative skills to engineer a diverse range of components for manufacture.
 
As a Production Engineer, you will leverage your technical acumen and proficiency in software packages to engineer components for production. You'll forge robust relationships with on-site manufacturing team as well as Design and Quality Engineers.
 
Your responsibilities as a Production Engineer:
 

  • Conduct thorough reviews of parts for tolerances and manufacturability, ensuring all components are optimally engineered for production.
  • Utilise Open Mind HyperCAD-S 3D modelling software to design machining fixtures for production components.
  • Generate appropriate CNC programs using the cutting-edge Open Mind HyperMILL software.
  • Select and specify optimal cutting tools to enhance efficiency and material removal rates.
  • Collaborate closely with production and design teams to support the cost-effective and efficient manufacturing of components.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for resolving production-related challenges.
  • Provide technical support to the sales department as needed, contributing to the overall business objectives.
  • Concentrate on achieving departmental objectives in line with the business KPIs.

 
Your current experience which will help you as a Production Engineer:
 

  • A background as an experienced and skilled CNC machinist within a precision manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working with castings and a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • A meticulous attention to detail paired with exceptional organisational skills.
  • Proficient in computer programming with extensive experience in relevant CAD/CAM software packages.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of influencing key stakeholders across the organisation.
