Principal Bridge Engineer

I am working with a very well established, specialist consultancy who are looking for somebody to join their team in York. The local team are relatively new, but part of a wider team across a few locations in the UK. Work is predominantly rail led and bridges focused, but may occasional include highway structures and other rail structures.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and demonstrate ability to lead teams in the preparation of design of bridges and other civil engineering structures
• Good project/task management skills. Deliver multiple small projects and or tasks within budget and to program
• Liaise with clients, review and agree scope for elements of work and prepare proposals.
• Get involved in work winning

Key Requirements

• MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Must have extensive experience in bridge design
• Chartered member of ICE or MIStructE
• Experience of other structures is very beneficial - including: stations, culverts and platforms
• Prior experience of managing and mentoring a team before
• Ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
• Well organised and strong interpersonal skills
• Ideally be familiar with Network Rail Standards

Benefits/Pay

• £48,000 - £60,000 depending on qualifications and experience
• Tax-free bonus scheme
• Hybrid working

Candidates at a Senior Engineer grade will also be considered for the position too.
